Spending money at the shop

This week we are learning to count objects and match them to the corresponding numbers. We are also going to be busy adding two groups of objects together.

Today we played in the sweet shop. We  enjoyed counting the sweets and paying for them with penny coins. We enjoyed sampling the sweets too ! Yum, Yum.

Goodbye for now!

Yesterday we said good bye to Mrs Sensecall and Mrs Connolly just for a little while whilst they go and have their babies. We enjoyed giving them gifts, and guides from the children on how to look after a baby! We're all very excited and can't wait to meet their little ones. Good luck both of you!

Today we all went to St Faith's Church, Kilsby for the Harvest Festival service. Rev Nigel led the service and we sang some harvest songs and said a poem with Cherry Class. It was our first time taking part in a service/assembly and we were brilliant. We all joined in with the poem and stood beautifully. After the service everyone came back to school for coffee and cakes, the money raised was put towards Andy Martin's fund raising for Parkinsons.

We brought beautiful harvest gifts to school before the service and during the afternoon the older children and Mr How took them around the village of Kilsby to some of the elderly residents. We really enjoyed our first Harvest service.

Village Walk

On Tuesday we went on a walk around the village. We walked to St Faith's Church and went inside to see what we could find. We'd read a story about a church and the things you might find inside so we looked to see if we could find some of those things, e.g. altar, pews, cross, pulpit, organ. The story was about Reverend Freddie Fisher and Puddles the cat so we took them with us too! The children enjoyed spotting the items in the church and look forward to going back for our Harvest Service next week.

Getting to know Mr Chambers

We have loved doing PE at school so far. On Thursdays Mr Chambers will be teaching us. Today was the first time we have met Mr Chambers so we just put our pumps on and played some games. It was lots of fun. We look forward to our PE lessons with him.

We have been learning how to log onto the laptops. Once we had logged on we were able to play some maths games. It was tricky using the mouse pad on the laptop but we did it! We have been practising in the classroom all week and are really good now.
